Newness in November 2023

Updated: May 17, 2024

Oh boy, do we have a lot to share since our last blog post! We've moved to our permanent home, had various birthday celebrations, taken our first visa trip, celebrated our first holiday overseas, and much more! We can't wait to dive into the details, so let's not waste anymore time...

A New Move

As you may recall in our last newsletter, we asked for prayers regarding our living situation as we considered moving to a larger space in preparation for the arrival of our 2nd born in January. Although we absolutely loved our previous space, it was clearly not going to help us function with a toddler & newborn baby because it was a very tiny apartment. We prayed eagerly alongside you asking God to open doors for us to find a larger space where we could settle permanently for the duration of our time in Africa. That is exactly what He did! God has been so faithful to not only allow us to find a larger apartment, but also to rent a place for a much cheaper cost!

In early October, we toured our soon-to-be apartment and fell in love with how spacious it was and the location of the building (which is not too distant from our previous place). On Halloween, we packed up our suitcases once again and made the short drive, with the help of our church community, to our new home. Within a day we were settled into our space & Ezra easily transitioned into his own room! This home has already provided us with the opportunity to not only feel more comfortable in our space, but also to host groups of people as we have longed to do! Our desire is to use our space as a means of ministry and fellowship not only for our little family, but for our friends as we grow relationships!

Birthday Boy!

Shortly after our move, we celebrated a very special birthday & a very special boy! We have been so thrilled to finally celebrate Ezra's first birthday and his first birthday overseas (we don't anticipate it being his last)! The week before his birthday, we made him a birthday cake and took some cake smash pictures. Shortly after our move, we celebrated his official birthday on November 4th with a few presents we bought for him and some ice cream! Following his birthday, he had his first birthday party which we hosted in our home. We have loved watching our home become a place of ministry & fellowship as we invited and continue to invite local Muslim believers in our space. Our weeks have also been filled with sweet moments together as a family.

...about Switzerland

Every 4 months we are expected to leave the country as is mandatory for everyone who has a tourist visa. Our first trip was conveniently due in November during Thanksgiving break, so we turned it into a holiday vacation to Switzerland! We took a mini road-trip of the country by visiting several different cities during our week there. Here's a little gallery of photos from each place with visited!

...until next time!
