We're Expecting...Again!!!!

Updated: Aug 17, 2023

We have been long overdue for a life update, so let's get into it!

Feel's a little bit like deja vu from last year, but...WE'RE EXPECTING (again lol)!!!! I bet you didn't see that one coming. Baby Vice is expected to arrive mid-January 2024 and we couldn't be more eager for our family to grow a little bit bigger.

"Every good gift and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

(James 1:17)

This verse has remained heavily pressed upon our hearts as we have been trying to comprehend life as a family of four! Even though we are expecting a lot of change this upcoming year, we are greatly excited for the transitions God is taking us through!

The single most resounding question we have received, inevitably of course, is: what about internship? Thankfully, the panic we would have felt did not come in full force when we found out we were expecting because, believe it or not, this is not the first time we have been in this situation. If you are not familiar with our story, in early 2022 we found out we were expecting our firstborn after planning our internship to Egypt. We had not entered our fundraising campaign luckily, and God closed the doors to Egypt (and we are SO glad He did). At the time, we experienced an abrupt transition from focusing our attention on our fundraising campaign to figuring out what we were going to do for the next 16 months until we could resume our plans. God filled those following months with beautiful memories of us bonding as a family. He also gave our son the chance to bond with relatives and friends. Looking back, we wouldn't change it for the world! However, we found ourselves in a similar situation planning for this internship when we had nearly finished fundraising. We kept open minds and help our plans with open hands and spoke with many people who are crucial in our departure and stay in North Africa. Not only have many of these people stayed overseas themselves for extended periods of time, but some have had children abroad and provided us with their insight and suggestions. Ultimately, we agreed to proceed with our plan for our business internship. We wholly believe that God has kept this door open for us. If you know our longing, then you know that this move is more significant to us than satisfying the requirements of a college degree. This is a future career opportunity in business we have felt called to for several years, with an offer extended to return long term by those actively running a local business in North Africa.

As we are looking forward to our departure overseas in 1 month there is much we have to accomplish in the meantime to prepare for such a big move!
